okay, so my last entry was 2/9. it's not 2/18. let me see if i can recap coherently...
so last weekend was standing o and brandeis. kalaniot and bu on tap went. well, and subset of bu on tap. thursday was me, lex, alex, and colleen, and we were without alex on saturday. but it was awesome. tap did one of our dances from last semester, and then we joined hot (hooked on tap) from brandeis for shim sham. i love julie. i want to dance with her more. and kalaniot was good, but we were quite squished. there is not enough room on that stage for 21 people. although abby, the director of b'yachad at brandeis, was rather rude to kalaniot - specifically alexis - on saturday, but whatever. she just can't stand that we're more awesome. ;) but in general, i usually love abby. just not that day. ;)
then sunday rehearsals all day were fine, a little tiring. at the dm meeting that night, i talked to jay, and he has no problem with me heading out early. yay! so i'll be leaving the dm cleanup on the 3rd of april around 8am, try to catch the 9am bus to the city, and do the ny festival. then i'll collapse. i am not looking forward to that weekend - oh the lack of sleep.
monday night, louise and i booked our airfare to london, and our hostel while there. so awesome. amazingly, everything for that seems to be coming together soooo well. when does that EVER happen?
and now it's time for the good news that i've been wanted to talk about and now i can. last week, kara mentioned to me that the tsai stage was going to be refinished this summer, and that she was talking with diane about just letting us dance on the actual stage floor, since it would be fixed anyway. diane, of course, had some concerns about the floor, as she was here back when it was "wrecked" by a tap group before. but kara really went to bat for us, and is awesome. so kara called my on tuesday afternoon and told me that diane said yes. so, just this once, bu on tap will be dancing directly on the tsai stage - no extra floor required. i swear, in freshman year, i said something along the lines of "by the time i graduate, there will be tap dancing on that floor" and i was right! it's so exciting! we're still looking into buying a floor for future shows, but for now, the pressure is off. :-D wooohoo! i love kara. the show's gonna be so awesome.
things are also coming together really well for my spring break plans. flying into vegas on thursday night. friday, we're doing all the dorky star trek stuff. saturday is mostly sight-seeing, and in the evening we're splitting into smaller groups to do shows - i'm going to "o" and that's super exciting. sunday, i don't think too much is planning. but sunday night, i'm meeting joe in vegas, we're going to rennid at the stratosphere and then driving out to southern cal. monday we're hitting legoland and disney. tuesday we're driving back north and stopping at the scharffen berger factory tour, then back to reno. that's all the exciting stuff so far, but yay. i'm so trilled.
not too much else happened in the week. exam, business, lack of sleep, need to do laundry, the usual. my room looks like it was hit by a tornado, and i should probably take care of that. and i'm excited for the next couple of days, as we have monday off for presidents' day, then tuesday operates on a monday schedule, then my wednesday night class is cancelled. that means that i don't have class again until tuesday morning at 9:30am. i love it. and hopefully that means that i will use some of my time to catch up on all the reading and project-work that i have to do.
alright, time to recovered from the tornado.
